Turn any photo into a one-of-a-kind Ink-style work of art.
Ink works are created with various dilutions of ink. By avoiding sharp outlines, the art retains the natural look of the original photograph. For additional interest, consider including colored ink for all or just a special feature of the artwork.
The example to the right (entitled "Musician") is based on a photograph of a street musician in Asia. The final work is a sentimental reminder of the owner's culture while accentuating the Asian decor of her room. Considerations:
- Virtually any photograph works well as the subject for artwork done in the Ink style.
- Determine if you would like to have the artwork done in washes of black ink, or, for a different look, multiple colors can be used.
- A very unique option is to have a single, special element in color, while the rest of the work is monochromatic.
- The work can extend to the edge of the paper, or fade toward the edges.
- Ink works done on artist paper and then framed look best.
